Why Use Flowline Reflective Ultrasonic Technology?

Using ultrasonic level sensors to control and monitor the fluid in tanks has been around for quite a while. However, one of the most significant issues has been condensation on the sensor transducer, which causes intermittent failures and unreliable readings. Typically, people have turned to expensive Radar sensors.  To provide a high quality alternative, Flowline has developed and introduced “reflective ultrasonic” level sensors.

At the core of Reflective Technology™ is a simple fact. Unlike traditional flat horizontal surfaces, significant water droplets cannot adhere to smooth vertical surfaces. By orienting the transducer vertically, condensation runs off the transducer and does not occlude or otherwise affect sensor performance. The unimpeded transmit and receive signals are redirected to and from the liquid off a 45º reflective surface, delivering consistent and reliable level measurement in even the toughest of applications.
