Flow Measurement Instrumentation

Ryan Herco has flow control equipment and systems for flow monitoring, flow control, batching, totalizing and flow sensing for water, wastewater and chemical applications. Flow can be measured using many different types of instruments and technologies. The correct method is chosen based on the type and characteristics of the liquid and the system. RHFS can work with you to select the best available instrument for your specific application.

Insertion Paddlewheel Flowsensors

Signet Rotor-X paddlewheel flow sensors are an industry standard. In combination with a broad range of installation fittings and associated transmitters, indicators and controllers, you can assemble the right system for your application.

Magnetic Flowsensors

Ryan Herco is proud to provide the Signet family of magnetic insertion flowsensors. These are a low cost and effective solution for liquid flow measurement in water and industrial flow processes involving conductive fluids.

We also offer the Siemens line of full-bore magnetic flowsensors. The Siemens Mag 3100 sensor is a good general industrial system, the Mag 5100W sensor is specifically designed for water and wastewater applications, the Mag 1100 sensor is for food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications, and the Mag 5000 electronics package (sold separately) works with the above sensors.

Turbine and In-line Flowsensors

Georg Fischer Signet manufactures a line of turbine and micro-flow flowsensors that are perfect for a variety of applications including chemical dosing, batch dispensing, pump protection and many more. Review the information on the Signet 2100 Turbine Flowsensor (1/4“ to 1” connections, flows of 0.10 to 10 gpm), the Signet 2000 MicroFlow Rotor Sensor (1/4” connections, flows of 0.03 to 3.2 gpm) and the Signet 2507 Mini Flow Rotor Sensor (1/4” connections, flows of 0.15 to 3.17 gpm).

Ultrasonic Flow Meters

Ultrasonic flow meters measure flow without coming in contact with the fluid. Transit-time meters, which are used for relatively clean fluids, and doppler meters, which can be used for dirty or solids-laden fluids both attach to the outside of the pipe. This type of meter is available as a portable device or a permanent installation. Review the information on the Fuji Time Delta-C Ultrasonic Flow Meters, the Fuji Portaflow X Ultrasonic Flow Meter, and the Fuji Duosonics Ultrasonic Flow Meter.

Open Channel Flowmeters

Flow in open channels can be measured by using an ultrasonic level transducer measuring level over a weir or flume. This is common in wastewater and irrigation applications. Contact RHFS for information about open channel flow measurement.

Liquid Level Measurement

Liquid level monitoring and control is an essential component of a fluid management system. Instruments fall into two broad categories: those that make CONTACT with the fluid and those that are NON-CONTACT. Ryan Herco offers a number of product lines in each category to make specifying the right components for your system easy.

Display & Control

Contact Level Control

Contact level control consists typically of a switch that is placed or suspended into the liquid and uses a float, measures pressure changes or measures changes in sound waves across a small gap to indicate liquid level or changes in the level. Click here to see Ryan Herco’s line-up of contact level control products.

Non-Contact Level Control

Ultrasonic is the most common technology for non-contact level control, using sound waves to echo off the liqujid surface and give a continuous output for montoring or control. Click here to see Ryan Herco’s line-up of non-contact level control products.

Display and Control

Level switches are usually connected to a display, controller or PLC. Ryan Herco can provide you with a number of options to visualize and control your liquid level. Click here for more information.

Analytical Instrumentation

Ryan Herco can provide a variety of standalone sensors and integrated systems to montor and control analytical parameters, and can also integrate signals from the individual sensor points through a multi-parameter instrument.

Conductivity / Resistivity

The Signet 9900 transmitter and the 9950 Dual Channel transmitter, when coupled with +GF+ conductivity / resistivity sensors provides a simple to use, easy to read display showing both a “dial-type” digital bar graph and a digital readout of your conductivity / resistivity values. The 9900 is offered in both a panel and field mount housing. The 9950 is offered in panel mount only.

pH / ORP

Ryan Herco can provide you with instruments to measure, monitor and control the pH and ORP of your process system. They can also be integrated with metering pumps, valves, recorders or alarms for a complete system of control.

The Signet 9900 Transmitter can be panel or field mounted and provides a large, backlit display. Signet also provides a complete line-up of sensors, pre-amps and sensor electronics to round out your system.

Turbidity

The Signet 4150 Turbidimeter system measures water turbidity via a 90 degree light which reflects particles as they flow through a small volume, low flow cuvette. This system is EPA compliant per USEPA 180.1. Two measuring ranges are available: 0 to 100 NTU for applications such as drinking water, and 0 to 1000 NTU for various applications including raw water and wastewater.

Multi-parameter Control

Ryan Herco sells the Signet 9950 Dual Channel Transmitter that can handle to sensors of the same or different type. The 9950 features an easy to read LCD screen and can transmit a 4-20 mA signal as well as triggering different combinations of relays with the addition of optional relay modules.

Ryan Herco also features Walchem industrial controllers with robust feature sets for a number of industrial applications. Features include multiple sensor input, Ethernet connectivity, and a range of optional outputs.

Chlorine

The Signet 4630 Chlorine Analyzer System is an integrated all-in-one system designed to measure free chlorine. The panel mount system with pH sensor is used to accurately calculate free chlorine in applications that have varying pH values. The system is quick and easy to install and is supplied with a 100-240 VAC power supply, two 4-20 mA outpus and two dry contact mechanical relays.

Electro-Chemical Devices
