Universal 3 Series Positive Displacement Pumps

The Universal 3 Series is the latest addition to the Waukesha positive displacement pump family by SPX FLOW. It offers a front loading seal design with no bearings in the product zone. Operating pressure capacities up to 500 psi (34.5 bar) and standard 316L stainless steel body and cover makes this an attractive hygienic pump option for your most challenging applications in the food and beverage industry. Assembled and tested in Delavan, WI with “Waukesha 88” non-galling rotors and a standard 304 stainless steel gear case provides an ideal fluid transfer solution that is able to withstand the rigors of daily processing environments.

Long-life Features

  • Up to 500 psi (34.5 bar) pressure capability.
  • Pumps rated to 300°F (149°C) as standard.
  • Special rotor nut designed for extended service without loosening.
  • No bearings in the product zone.
  • Body retaining screws for maintaining mechanical seal contact during inspection.
  • Extended outer seal life. A wave spring, instead of an O-ring, mechanically loads the seal.
  • Unique mechanical seal design utilizes 2 pin stationary seal and special design shaft for rotary seal.

Universal Twin Screw Pumps

Universal Twin Screw Series pumps offer reliability, process flexibility, and smooth operation.

Features and Benefits

  • Reliable performance - Screws made from Waukesha Alloy 88 non-galling
  • material allow the pump to run through incidental contact and reduce risk of
  • pump damage if screws make contact
  • Gentle product handling - Pumps large particulates without degradation
  • Responsive service - Extensive global distribution network with certified repair centers provide quick response times for parts and service
  • Easy maintenance - Front loaded access to product side seals
  • Process flexibility - Low inlet pressure requirement and a wide range of operating speeds allow for multiple duties including process and CIP supply.  Bi-directional flow capability without making modifications to the pump.
  • Smooth operation - Reduces slip pulse in low inlet pressure, low viscosity, and high pressure conditions
  • Reduced noise levels - Operating principle virtually eliminates pressure fluctuations

Universal Lobe Series Positive Displacement Pumps

The Universal Lobe Pumps were specifically designed for a different challenge: lower cost and CIP (clean in place) applications. Universal lobe pumps feature bidirectional flow with a free draining internal flat profile pump body. Uniquely designed Waukesha "88" alloy rotors permit running at tighter clearances and higher efficiencies.

While intended for lower cost, Universal Lobe Pumps are not light duty. They incorporate the advanced technology of the new Universal 2 PD pump that strengthens sanitary performance and extends pump life. They are capable of accommodating high temperatures and pressures up to 300 psi (21 bar).

Universal Lobe Pump Series utilizes the Universal 2 gear case with 3-way mounting flexibility. It offers the full range of seal and port options and has Integral Speed Reducer (ISR) mounting capabilities.
